Adorned with cowrie shells, it takes 3 days to make one small shield. It takes a whole week to make the 24". This is definitely a labor of love.
Traditionally, these shields were used as defensive weapons and also as decorative or ritual objects which in Cameroon symbolizes status and wealth.
